Step-by-step

Install Chirps on Xcode

Follow the path that matches your project. Keep the generated snippet private to your workspace and verify the result on a preview URL.

1

Train the AI Brain

Before touching Swift or Xcode, add your approved public URLs and helpdesk PDF/DOCX files in the Chirps dashboard. Review the resulting knowledge and test representative questions before exposing it to app users.

2

Embed via WKWebView

For the hosted experience, add a WKWebView to your app. In UIKit, add the view to your view controller; in SwiftUI, wrap it with UIViewRepresentable. Point it at the assistant URL or hosted surface documented in your Chirps workspace and test navigation, keyboard, consent, and safe-area behavior.

3

API-driven Native Experiences

For a fully native interface, follow the current Chirps Developer API documentation and call it from your server-side layer. Keep API credentials out of the iOS bundle; use URLSession only for endpoints intended for client-side access.

Keep the installation maintainable

The embed only mounts the widget. Your content, privacy settings, bookings, leads, and handoff rules stay editable in Chirps, so a content change does not require another deployment.

Questions

Xcode integration FAQ

How do I add Chirps AI to Xcode?

Create or select an assistant in Chirps, train it on the public pages or files you choose, copy the generated installation snippet, and place it in the global layout or code-injection area for Xcode. Test the preview before publishing.

What can the Xcode assistant help with?

It can answer questions grounded in your approved knowledge, collect enquiries, offer booking or lead forms when those artifacts are enabled, and hand conversations to your configured human-support channel.

Can I change the assistant after installation?

Yes. Widget appearance, knowledge, instructions, language, and enabled artifacts are managed in Chirps. You normally do not need to edit the site code again unless you move the widget to a different layout.
